We’re reaching out to share some action items and ways you can be involved in shaping the Cache LGBTQ+ Collective’s next meeting on July 30th. Your support is appreciated at any and all levels!
The July Collective meeting is focused on providing accurate and helpful information regarding local and state education policies that impact LGBTQ+ students. There have been a lot of confusing changes this year, and many that can make LGBTQ+ students and allies feel unsupported and alone. We want this meeting to provide the support, community, and information folks may be seeking as they go back to school this August.

Attend our upcoming planning sessions to help us shape the Back to School Policy Meeting on the 30th!
In-person planning session: Wednesday, July 17th at 6:30pm at Grounds for Coffee. Anyone and everyone is welcome!
We’ll primarily be planning out July’s meeting and working together to get resources and information for attendees.

What we’re hoping to provide information about at the July 30th meeting:
Utah’s anti-DEI bill (HB 261) and how that affects LGBTQ+ students at USU
Utah’s recent Juneteenth resolution that makes the Biden administration’s inclusive Title IX changes not applicable to Utah
General Session), effectively banning transgender girls from competing in sports
H.B. 257, Sex-based Designations for Privacy, Anti-Bullying, and Women’s Opportunities, (2024 General Session) imposing prohibitive rules on using public facilities based on sex designation, impacting transgender students using restrooms
the provisions found in Title 53B, Chapter 27, Campus Individual Rights Act
How LGBTQ+ students can report bullying and harassment
How to help LGBTQ+ students access accommodations they may need this school year
How to find support as an LGBTQ+ student, educator, or ally in the education system
We’re also hoping to help create a safe space for folks to talk about their concerns, voice their questions, and be in community with people doing the incredible work of advocating for and supporting LGBTQ+ students in this valley.
