Several wonderful coalition members have been working with Cache Pride folks to help make this happen.
Celebration Cycle
This month we get to celebrate the community members working to reduce bullying and harassment of LGBTQ+ youth in Cache Valley schools. Their efforts have resulted in an easy-to-follow resource guide for students reporting bullying incidents. We need more accurate reporting, more courageous kids reporting, and more administrative action in response to reports to help make positive change happen. Please share this guide with anyone you think could benefit from it.
Special thanks to Amy Anderson, Melissa Draper, Alden Jack, and others dedicated to finding solutions to these issues!

Here are some action items, large and small, that you could do to make an impact today!
Fast Action:
TOMORROW, May 18th, is a Suicide Prevention and Awareness Walk with the Cache Suicide Prevention Coalition. We got an email inviting us to spread the word, attend if we are able, and even to participate in having a booth or table for the education part of the event. If you would be interested in sharing about the coalition, passing out flyers, or even tabling at the event tomorrow, please respond to this newsletter and we can send you more information!
Small fry:
Try following an LGBTQ+ creator or advocacy group on social media, or watching a movie featuring queer stories! Where you spend your time in this attention economy matters.
A medium fry:
Know of anyone who may be interested in partnering with or sponsoring an event with the Coalition? Send them our email!
Who are we missing at coalition meetings? Who would you like to see at the table?
Invite them to come to our next meeting and visit our social media pages!
A larger fry:
Email or Print these flyers and share with anyone you can think of who would like to get involved in our coalition. Or, pick up some flyers at our next meeting!

Northern Utah LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce
The Utah LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce is starting a Northern Utah Chapter!
So far, meetings have been held monthly at Happy Magpie in Ogden. Visit the bookstore’s instagram page @happymagpiebook, or the Chamber of Commerce’s page @utahlgbtqchamber
On May 29th, Kelsey Crowson is speaking about the important role supportive adults have in the lives of LGBTQ+ youth at this upcoming conference! It’s free to register, although they have a waitlist for new registrations due to high demand.

Utah Pride Center is hosting their annual Pride Festival in SLC on June 1st and 2nd this year. Theres’s an Interfaith Worship Service on May 31st, The March and Rally, on June 1st, and the Pride Parade on June 2nd. Visit this link for more information!

Next Meeting
Join us at our next meeting on Tuesday, May 28th at 7pm. We’ll be meeting at Cache Pride Center on 596 E 900 N, in Logan UT.

Identify topic areas of interest people would like to learn more about in future meetings
Prep for Pride Month! Bring any events and opportunities you’d like to spread the word about for June to share!
We have some information we want to share about Guardian ad Litem attorneys in Utah Courts and their role with gender diverse youth and their families. If you have questions or are curious about what’s required for trans youth to change their gender on their birth certificate, or how to advocate for gender diverse kiddos going through their parents’ divorce, come to our meeting to learn more!
