What’s New?

  • We had a great meeting on July 30th about policy updates affecting local students and educators! Keep your eyes peeled for a meeting recap email in the coming week.

  • This Saturday, August 10th, is our LGBTQ+ Back to School Fair! Keep reading to learn about how we need YOU to make it happen!

  • We have started doing planning meetings for events and meetings that require more effort to put together. So far, we try to do 2-3 of them, each at different times, with some online and some in person.

  • We have an updated Reporting School Bullying Resource flyer that doesn’t directly address Title IX, since Utah has taken legislative action to prevent gender identity and sexual orientation from being protected by Title IX in our state. We have also gotten the flyer translated into Spanish, so we now have English and Spanish versions! You can even print it so it’s English on one side and Spanish on the other.

  • We got logo designs back from the graphic designer! We just need to share feedback and move to the next step of edits. So exciting!

Back to School Fair

This Saturday, August 10th, join us for an LGBTQ+ Back to School Fair hosted by the Cache LGBTQ+ Collective, Cache Pride Center, and the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. We’ll be giving out school supplies, fun goodies, and resources from 10am-2pm at 930 N, 400 W, Logan, UT. We’ll also have a bounce house for kiddos, and several wonderful community organizations coming to share their resources with all of us.

The Back to School Fair is for LGBTQ+ students of all ages, their families, school faculty and educators, and community advocates.

Send us a message on socials or an email to [email protected] if you have any questions. Keep reading to learn about how you can get involved!

Take Action!

Help us make this Back to School Fair a success! We need help with the following things:

  • We need to follow up with and confirm different organizations' attendance in the valley (check the google doc for more with that: https://docs.google.com/.../16w.../edit...)

  • We need volunteers to sign up for the day of the event! Sign up here at this link: https://docs.google.com/.../1HjtLoocI.../edit...

  • We need donations of various supplies,

    • including school supplies as listed in the image shared below (especially backpacks, earbuds; things that are harder to get),

    • craft supplies (for bracelet making and our sticker making contest),

    • 3x5 (ish) white paper

  • Some queer, kid friendly music playlists if anyone is willing to find or create these!

  • Extra rectangular tables if people have them to bring on Saturday

  • Decorations! Ideas, supplies, and support in this area are welcome

  • Food, snack, and drink donations for attendees to enjoy. If you can bring a pack of water or some fruit and snacks, please let us know!

Please let us know if you are able to do any of these tasks, and keep us updated via email or on our social media pages. Items can be arranged for pick up or they can be dropped off at one of our two drop off locations:

  • Logan Pride Foundation House: 69 E 100 N, Logan, UT 84321

  • Cache Pride Center: 596 E 900 N, Logan, UT 84321

Can’t donate this time? Fear not! Cache Pride is always in need of school supplies to provide to LGBTQ+ students in need. We can also coordinate with local school GSA leaders and other affirming faculty to deliver them resources for LGBTQ+ students. They appreciate your donations all year round!
