Hello!

We’re excited to bring you some fresh updates and information about what to expect as September nears its close. Here are the basics of what’s coming up next week:

  • Our next meeting is Tuesday, September 24th at 6pm. The social hour starts at 6pm, and the business starts at 7pm. We’ll send out the zoom link on Monday!

  • The annual Logan Pride Festival is next Saturday, September 28th! Come visit us at the festival or volunteer at our booth to help us spread the word about the Collective and enjoy the best local queer event of the year!

  • Happening at the same time as the Logan Pride Festival is the Giant Pumpkin Festival on Center Street on Saturday, September 28th! We’ve decided to also attend this event, so we would really appreciate any and all help y’all can provide to make it possible for us to be in two places at once!!

Keep reading for more details! We look forward to seeing you next week!

Tuesday’s Meeting

We’re excited for the next community Collective meeting on Tuesday, 9/24! We’ll be gathering at 6pm for a social hour, and the meeting will start at 7pm. Join us in person at Cache Pride Center (596 E 900 N, Logan, UT 84321), or online at a zoom link we’ll send out on Monday.

We'll be focusing on Legislative Advocacy for this meeting. We’ll have a guest or two coming to talk about what it’s like to run in local elections, as well as some helpful information about how to make a positive impact for LGBTQ+ folks in our politics. We’re also hoping to come up with some ways we as a collective can promote education about this election and get folks registered to vote!

Festival Breakdowns

We’re attending TWO big events as a Collective on Saturday, Sept 28th!

Logan Pride Festival

Logan Pride Festival is taking place at Willow Park and runs from 10am to 6pm. We’ll be there setting up our booth between 7:30am and 9:45am, with clean-up starting at 5pm. We’re excited to provide an engaging art activity, useful handouts, information about the collective, and a resource activity in which folks can fill out their own resource handout at the festival and get a prize! We’ll also be providing fun stickers from the artist Renographics, and one of the collectible stickers from our local youth who attended the Back to School Fair in August. If you’d like to collect all of the stickers, make sure you visit both our booths that Saturday, and stay tuned for opportunities to collect more!

For this event, we need:

  • Volunteers to help us attend the booth and activities. Sign up here!

  • Prizes for folks to win for filling out their resource paper

  • Rainbow decorations! Especially flags we can hang at the booth

  • Art supplies to help us put together the art activity (colored craft paper, markers, pens, glue and staples, etc.)

  • Water and potentially snacks for our volunteers

  • Donations to help us fund the cost of our handouts, stickers, and banners for the booth

Please email us at [email protected] if you want to help! You can also check out our planning document using the button below.

Giant Pumpkin Festival

The Giant Pumpkin Festival will be happening on Center Street from 11am to 7pm. We’ll be setting up between 7am and 10:45am, and cleaning up starting at 7pm. We’re excited to be included in the youth activities section of the festival, where we’ll be playing giant Jenga and inviting folks to help us grow our paper chain of “kindness that connects us” that makes up a giant pumpkin’s vine! We’ll also be providing helpful handouts and one of the collectible stickers from our local youth who attended the Back to School Fair in August. If you’d like to collect all of the stickers, make sure you visit both our booths that Saturday, and stay tuned for opportunities to collect more!
